Without certification, your score is capped at 3, even if you\u2019ve filled out the questionnaire perfectly. For non-certified bidders, responses to the questionnaire yield a score of 3 at best, achieved with between 50 and 65 points. On the private sector side, your clients are sending you increasingly detailed EcoVadis assessments and supplier questionnaires. These aspects require preparation. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fedlex.admin.ch\/eli\/cc\/2020\/126\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Act on Public Procurement (LMP)<\/a> and the 2019 AIMP establish the sustainable use of public funds as an objective (Art. 2) and award the contract to the most advantageous bid (Art. 41). Article 29 of the PPL expressly lists sustainable development and life-cycle costs among the criteria that the contracting authority must consider, alongside price and quality.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">In French-speaking Switzerland, public procurers use a standard method for evaluating bidders\u2019 sustainability: Annex T5 of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vd.ch\/etat-droit-finances\/marches-publics\/guide-romand\/guide-romand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the French-speaking Switzerland Guide to Public Procurement<\/a>. This annex establishes the 0-to-5 scale mentioned above.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6b56ff8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"6b56ff8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Private Markets: Your Clients Evaluate You Based on Your Ability to Manage Their Own Risks<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6cae974 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6cae974\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p dir=\"ltr\">Large Swiss companies have their own obligations. As of January 1, 2024, public-interest companies with at least 500 full-time equivalent positions at the group level must include a climate report in their non-financial report, as required by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fedlex.admin.ch\/eli\/cc\/27\/317_321_377\/fr#art_964_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Articles 964a through 964c of the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO)<\/a>. To fulfill this requirement, they turn to their suppliers. Requests take the form of an EcoVadis assessment, an in-house questionnaire, or a request for carbon data.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Do you supply a European group subject to the CSRD? A safeguard is now in place. Since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.decision-achats.fr\/strategie-achats-1236\/juridique-2265\/conformite-csrd-devoir-de-vigilance-comment-naviguer-dans-le-nouveau-paysage-2026-51557\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omnibus Directive<\/a>, a client subject to the CSRD is no longer permitted to require information from its suppliers with fewer than 1,000 employees that goes beyond the voluntary VSME framework. The VSME framework thus becomes the foundation you need to master in order to confidently meet these clients\u2019 needs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-08d4d2c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"08d4d2c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Private Markets: Your Clients Evaluate You Based on Your Ability to Manage Their Own Risks<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-95cbf7b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"95cbf7b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p dir=\"ltr\">Standing still comes at a cost, which is felt in three areas:<\/p><ul dir=\"ltr\"><li><strong>Commercial<\/strong>: You\u2019re excluded from markets where certification is a prerequisite; On the assessment sheet, each category is scored based on seven indicators: Policies, Adherence, Measures, Certifications, Coverage, Reporting, and 360\u00b0 Monitoring.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Two of these indicators are entirely up to you. \u201cPolicies\u201d requires you to document your commitments, while \u201cReporting\u201d requires you to publish your figures.
